My name is K. Kuulei Kanahele. I was born in Hilo, and raised in the Hawaiian Home Land Community of Panaʻewa, Waiākea, Hilo, Hawaiʻi Island. My life work is centered on education, community health and wellness, and the sustainability of Hawaiʻi’s most precious natural resources, which include our keiki and kūpuna elders!

In a general sense, it is my humble position that the work that is yet to be done for the betterment of Hawaiʻi is far more important than a list of my accomplishments. Though you can review mine here, the efforts of my campaign will focus on community education and civic engagement.

If you are a well-seasoned voter, mahalo for your contributions to Hawaiʻi governance. Regardless of whether or not I am elected, my candidacy is designed to reconnect the realm of politics to the diverse populations of constituents it’s meant to serve to ensure that bills, laws, and resolutions are community-informed. I hope you consider joining me in meeting regularly to discuss our political climate and the future you see for the people and place that is Hawaiʻi.

If you are a non, new, or hesitant voter - if lack of interest, knowledge, and/or confidence in the value of your vote has kept you from voting in the past, I want to say that I understand. I hope to share more about the history of Hawaiʻi Civics, and the value of getting through the discomfort of voting in occupied Hawaiʻi. If you are interested in staying in touch about this, you can reach me by phone at (808) 940-6989.
