ABOUT THE PROCESS

STATE LEGISLATURE
While I plan to record a few “How it Works” videos, the State has existing reading material on how Hawaiʻi State governance works for us to review.

DISTRICTS
Your address will determine what “district” you live in, and which candidates you can vote for. Regarding the Senate, State (House) Representative, and County Council seats, you can only vote for the candidates who live in and are running for your district.

There are different maps per seat, which means that your address could potentially put you in Senate District 2, House District 3, and Council District 5.

I made an online map where you can type your address into the magnifying glass and click through what districts you live in. You can find that online resource at www.tinyurl.com/himap3.
